Papertrade is a synthetic perpetual contract protocol built on HyperEVM. Instead of relying on a traditional order book, it lets users trade directly against the protocol's liquidity pool (LP), using Hyperliquid's BBO mid price as the price source, achieving zero slippage, zero funding fees, and supporting high leverage. When opening a position, the user locks in that mid price as the entry price; when closing, profit and loss are settled at the latest mid price. The protocol does not charge users trading fees, but takes a percentage from profitable trades. When users lose or get liquidated, the loss goes into the LP, and the user receives PAPER tokens as compensation. PAPER tokens have no pre-mine and can be staked to share protocol revenue. This mechanism creates a counterparty relationship between the LP and users, sustained by token incentives.
